BUNNELL HIGH SCHOOL SCHOOL COUNSELING DEPARTMENT
PRELIMINARY SCHOLASTIC APTITUDE TEST (PSAT) NATIONAL MERIT SCHOLARSHIP QUALIFYING TEST (NMSQT)
September 14, 2012
To: Juniors, Sophomores, and Interested Freshmen From: The Bunnell High School Counseling Department
The College Entrance Examination Board is offering the PSAT/NMSQT. This is a two hour and ten minute multiple choice test which measures the critical reading, mathematical, and writing skills which are necessary for college success. Test results, interpretation booklets, and answers will be made available to students during December 2012.
The PSAT/NMSQT gives students a chance to find out what the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) is like and helps in planning for college; further, students who choose to participate in the Student Search Service have an opportunity to hear from colleges they might not otherwise learn about. The PSAT/NMSQT is also the qualifying test for the National Merit Scholarship Program. Juniors who wish to be eligible for awards in the spring 2013 must take the October 2012 PSAT/NMSQT. We strongly encourage students to participate.
Date of Test: Saturday, October 20, 2012 Place: Bunnell High School Time: 8:00 a.m. Cost: Test fee $26.00 to be paid in the School Counseling Office between September 24th and October 12th.
No cash will be accepted. (Make checks payable to: Bunnell High School)
Students should check lists posted outside the School Counseling Office and at four corners for room assignments for testing. REGISTRATION MUST BE COMPLETED BY FRIDAY, OCTOBER 12, 2012.
Students should bring two #2 pencils and a calculator. The test begins promptly at 8:00 a.m. No one will be admitted after that time. The total estimated time required for testing will be approximately three hours. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------(tear off)
