ATTENTION RISING JUNIORS

SUMMER PROGRAMS

Summer programs are an excellent opportunity to earn college credits,

improve study skills, and travel.  

Many of these programs may offer financial assistance for

 those that qualify.

ASSE- Student exchange Program- Summer abroad programs in your choice of 25 different countries. For more information contact www.asse.com. Cost of the program may vary based on location and length of stay. Deadline for primary application and fee January 15th.

 

NYU Steinhardt-various instrumental workshops held at NYU during the month of July.  For more information including applications go to www.steinhardt.nyu.edu/music/summer or call 212-998-5424

 

Taft School- Students can take a variety of courses and enhance their skills on the SAT during this five week program in Watertown, CT. Cost including room and board $5,800.  Application must be submitted by May 15th . Financial assistance is available for those who apply by March 1, 2010.

 

Oxbridge Academy- - Students have the opportunity to study at Oxford and Cambridge university-  There are also programs that allows students to study in France and Spain. Applications need to submitted By January 8th , 2010. Some scholarship money may be available. Contact information www.oxbridgeprograms.com

 

Cushing Academy- Ashburn, MA-  Will host several programs running from July 6-August 7th. Prep for Success- students ages 12-13,  College Prep for students ages 14-18,  Studio Art for students ages 13-18.  Students can apply online  at www.cushing.org/summer

 

UCONN School of Engineering – June 27th-July 1st at the Storrs Campus. This is a residential program for rising juniors and seniors who are interested in the engineering field.  Cost of the program is $500.  Application deadline is April 2nd. Applications are available in guidance.

 

Center for Creative Youth- Wesleyan University-This program runs June27th-July 31st and students will have an opportunity to work with various artists in residence.  Cost of the program is $2000 for tuition and $2100 for students who need room and board. Financial Aid is available for those who are eligible. Classes include: Film, Photography, Theater, Dance.  Applications available in guidance. Deadline March 1st.

 

New Jersey Science and Technology University- Newark-Academy of College Courses in Technology and Sciences- July 6- August 5th- Students can earn college credit- Cost of the program is $760 plus $1400 room/board.  Early college prep program for students in grades 4-11. Program runs July 6-August 5th for $1070. Applications listed on the website www.njit.edu/precollege

 

Northfield Mount Hermon- Mount Hermon, MA0June 26-July 31- Offering College prep, Middle School, and Contemporary Dance Programs.  New Zealand Summer Abroad- June 22-July 28th  for students entering grades 10-12.  Application and cost of program listed on the website www.nhmschool.org/summer

 

Choate Rosemary Hall- Wallingford, CT- Offers several five week programs to help students improve academically, explore interests, and travel abroad and study government in Washington D.C. Applications are due by March 1st and some financial assistance is available to those who are eligible.  Application is in guidance.

Pennsylvania State College Tour- July 18-23- Cost $625


California State College Tour- July 26-31-$1150


Historically Black Colleges- August 2-8th- Cost $695


Ivy League & New England College Tour- August 16-22- $750
