IMPORTANT CAPT TESTING INFORMATION FOR PARENTS AND STUDENTS

Parents and students may access all 2010 CAPT Testing Information for Bunnell HS using the drop-down menu under "Academics."

Schedule for Thursday, March 11th:  Science II (65 mins) and Math (90 mins)
ALL Grade 9 and 10 students and those in Grades 11 and 12 who are re-testing must report to school for a 7:40 start.


Students in Grades 11 and 12 who are not taking the CAPT Tests may report to school for a 10:50 a.m. start this day.  Students are encouraged to arrive at school no later than 10:40 to avoid being late to their Period 5 classes at 10:50.
Thursday's Schedule of Classes:  CAPT-5-3-4 (drop Periods 1, 2, 6, and 7)

SOUTHWEST CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIPS &
NEW ENGLAND OPEN USSBA WINTER GUARD & DRUM LINE SHOW
this weekend in the BHS gymnasium.

Come see and hear great Color Guard and Drum Line performances from many New England High Schools.

Winter Awards Slated For March 18


      The Bunnell High School Winter Sports Awards program will be held on Thursday, March 18, 2010, at 7:00 p.m. in the Bunnell High School Auditorium.  All winter sports athletes, managers, coaches, parents, and friends are invited to attend.  Proper attire is required for all student-athletes.  Parents are asked to bring a dessert or drink to help the Bulldog Club with providing refreshments.

 


Bunnell Post Prom Committee Seeks Donations

The Bunnell Post Prom Committee is in need of donations and supplies.  The wish list includes:  Large sheets of cardboard; gift cards to: BJ's, Subway, Target, Stop & Shop and Big Y; cases of soda: Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite; cases of water.  Donations may be dropped off any Tuesday evening (except for the week of April 12th) between 7-8:00 pm in the art room of Bunnell.  Drop offs can also be made on Saturday, April 24th between 9 am and 12 pm in front of Bunnell High School. The economy has posed many challenges in our efforts to raise funds to support this important evening for our students.  Any help you can provide would be truly appreciated.

Princeton Review SAT Classroom Course
Preparing for the May 1, 2010

Bunnell High School  Guidance Department is still accepting enrollments for the SAT Classroom course right on campus. Seats are filling up – don’t miss out! Deadline to enroll is Monday, March 8th, 2010. Mark your calendars and get ready for awesome SAT scores!

Individual Planning Sessions for Juniors and their Parents

In an effort to expand parental involvement in the educational process, the Bunnell High School counselors are extending to Juniors and their parents an invitation to attend individual planning sessions. These appointments will be held March 18, 2010, through April 22, 2010 between the hours of 7:30 and 1:30.  If you are interested in scheduling an appointment, please contact your son or daughter’s school counselor prior to March 18th, 2010 at (203)385-4255.  We hope that you can attend this meeting and look forward to conferencing with you.

Reminder to Students about Dress Code

As per policy established by the Stratford BOE on May 24, 2004, students "must dress in a manner that is neither distracting to teachers and other students nor detrimental to the educational process of the school."  Students are not allowed to wear coats, hats, gloves, pajama/fleece pants, or any clothing considered to be obscene, vulgar, offensive, or suggestive

Teacher of the Year Nomination Forms Available On-line

Anyone wishing to nominate a Stratford BOE teacher for the 2009-2010 Teacher of the Year Award is encourged to submit an official nomination form.  Parents wishing to nominate should seek assistance from a teacher or principal in the nominee’s building. Every effort will be made to keep the names of the nominators confidential.

Nominations Must be Received at Bunnell High School by 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 1st, 2010. 

Late arrivals will not be considered.


Parent Portal  Now Available to Parents

The Stratford Public School System continues its efforts to enhance communication with parent(s)/guardian(s). To
this end, as of November 18th, BHS parents will have the ability to view their child's grades, attendance and other information securely via the Internet using the PowerSchool Parent Portal.


Parents/guardians can acces the Parent Portal via the District’s website
(http://www.stratfordk12.org) by clicking on the Parent Portal link.

 The BIG Y Education Express Bus has pulled into campus for the 2009-2010 school year!  Shop at BIG Y and earn Education Express Points for our school that allow us to purchase equipment and supplies to support Bunnell HS, our students, and our programs.
